Registration for EcoTrail Reykjavik

2020 is open

Registration fees in EcoTrail Reykjavik are now lower than last year. Runners can choose if they want to buy t-shirt, Finisher medal or bus transport to start.

Participants have the choice to buy t-shirt for 1.500 kr, finisher medal for 500 kr and bus transfer to start of races as follows: 23km (1.000 kr), 43km (1.500 kr), 83km (2.000 kr). There is no bus transfer to the start of the 13km.

Participants can cancel their registration and refund fee as follows

Cancellation before April 30th with 100% refund

Cancellation before May 31st with 75% refund

Cancellation before June 20th with 50%

From June 20th no refund is available.

The race will start in the afternoon of the 3rd of July, at 16:00. Runners should expect to embrace the sunset and sunrise, during the night! Hopefully in a clear sky weather.

The 83km race starts just in the town of Grindavik soon leading to ascending the 229 meter “mountain” Þorbjörn which will give the runners a very nice view over the Blue lagoon on a bright summer night. Runners will experience different kinds of trails, lava fields, gravel roads, green trails, bush trails, flats and semi tough hilly areas with nice views.

Water and refreshment stations will only be three (3). At around 30km distance from the start and around 30km and 10km from the finish line. Remember that you have to bring your own cup or bottle to get your drinks there. All refreshment stations will have warm tent in case of participants having to leave the race. 

The routes take you through very nice and scenic areas. When arriving into Reykjavik when around 11km are left to the finish line runners will still be running nice trails through scenic routes. The finish line is in the Nauthólsvík beach area just beside a nice hot tub where runners can rest after a nice warm shower. The center of Reykjavik is just minutes away by car. But why hurry away as refreshments will be at the finish line and you can speed up your recovery time by dipping into the refreshing cold sea just meters away from the finish line before or after entering the hot tub where you can be cheering other runners on their final meters to the finish line.

The 43km individual race will start late evening of the 3rd of July, at 21:00, on a bright summer night. Runners should expect to embrace the sunset and sunrise, during the night! Hopefully in a clear sky weather.

The 43km race starts around the middle of the 83km course close by the lake Kleifarvatn near the road Krísuvíkurvegur. Runners will experience different kinds of trails, lava fields, gravel roads, green trails, bush trails, flats and semi tough hilly areas with nice views.

Two water and refreshment stations will be on the course, at around 20km distances from the start and 11km from the finish line. Remember that you have to bring your own cup or bottle to get your drinks there.

A trail run through the heart of the countryside, following nice trails of different kind with scenic views during sunset in a bright summer night. The distance of this EcoTrail Reykjavik is around 23km. The start is in the middle of the largest outdoor area near Reykjavik called Heiðmörk and the finish line is at the beach of Nauthólsvík in Reykjavík. 

Bring your own refillable cup or water bottle for water/drinks at aid station around 11km from the finish line. 

A trail run on nice route with scenic views during sunset in a bright summer night. The distance with the new start is around 13km, but the new start is much easier to reach by all participants from the center of Reykjavik and the Finish line of the races. 

The event starts one hour before midnight at the edge of Heiðmörk which is Reykjavik main natures area.

The route is mostly flat and slighly downhill in between and the finishline is at the Nauthólsvík beach near the center of Reykjavik. 

Bus #5 runs between the finish line and the new start, which will be around 800 meters from the bus stop in Norðlingaholt area of Reykjavik. 

The route is suitable for recreational runners and joggers up to the very best.
